It’s RockTober, so to celebrate geologist Scott McKenzie invites the public to a free presentation titled “Finding Meteorites and Craters.” He’ll speak Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall. His talk is suitable for all ages. He’ll have meteorites on display and he encourages those attending to bring along any rocks they think might be meteorites. He adds, “No meteorites have yet been found in the Erie area, but they are here!” McKenzie has worked at more than 15 impact craters and suspected craters in the United States and Canada. An assistant professor of geology, he also curates the Sincak Natural History Collection at Mercyhurst. For more information, email McKenzie at firstname.lastname@example.org.
