The Center for Mercy and Catholic Studies at Mercyhurst University will present a lecture by noted theologian Christine Firer Hinze, Ph.D., professor of theology and director of the Francis and Ann Curran Center for American Catholic Studies at Fordham University. Hinze focuses on U.S. Catholic social and economic thought, including issues such as workplace justice, women and families, the state of the economy and the growing gap between rich and poor in this country and around the world. Her talk, “Is Economic Solidarity Bad Economics? Reflections on Pope Francis and Catholic Social Thought,” is free and open to the public.
