Dr. Nathan Hess, chair of the D’Angelo Department of Music, will perform a solo piano recital March 19 as part of the department’s Faculty Recital Series. The program, titled “From Liszt to Today,” begins at 8 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall. In addition to Liszt’s Angelus! Prière aux anges gardiens and Nuages gris, he’ll presents works by Jorge Villavicencio Grossmann, Ned Rorem, Eric Guinivan and Samuel Barber. Hess holds Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and has appeared throughout the United States and Europe in solo, chamber and concerto settings.
