The D’Angelo Department of Music at Mercyhurst University features violinist Jonathan Moser and pianist Dr. Nathan Hess in the February installment of its Faculty Recital Series. The recital, titled "A French Soiree," is set for Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m. in Walker Recital Hall. The program includes Eugene Ysaye's Ballade for solo violin, Claude Debussy's Sonata for violin and piano, and Lily Boulanger's Nocturne & Cortege for violin and piano. Moser and Hess will be joined by clarinetist Rebecca Wunch for Darius Milhaud's Suite for Violin, Clarinet and Piano, Op. 157b; by saxophonist Dr. Scott Meier for Marc Eychenne's Cantilene et Danse for Violin, Saxophone and Piano; and by the Mercyhurst Dancers for Maurice Ravel’s Tzigane. Says Moser, "Come for a wonderful evening of music that will stir your emotions and captivate your imagination. From the beautifully calm Nocturne by Lily Boulanger to the fiery Tzigane of Ravel, and with guest artists on clarinet, saxophone and even dance, this evening will delight your senses!" The program is free and open to the public; call 814-824-2394 for more information.
