The D’Angelo Department of Music at Mercyhurst University continues its Faculty Recital Series with a performance titled “Perpetual Motion,” featuring Allen Zurcher on soprano and alto saxophones. The program on Thursday, April 23, at 8 p.m. will be held in Walker Recital Hall (located in the Hirt Academic Center) and is free and open to the public. Zurcher will be assisted by The Presque Isle Saxophone Quartet (Allen Zurcher, soprano saxophone; Betheny Dressler, alto saxophone; Rebecca Wunch, tenor saxophone; Scott Meier, baritone saxophone), The Presque Isle String Quartet (Joseph Kneer and Louis Nicolia, violin; Jennifer Jansen, viola; Ruth Scanzillo, cello), and Rebeca Wunch on clarinet. On the program: “Quintet for Alto Saxophone and Strings” by Russell Peterson; “Glint” by Roshanne Etezady; “The Garden of Love,” for soprano saxophone and boom box, by Jacob ter Veldhius; “Rush” by David Kechley; and “Drastic Measures” by Russell Peck.
