The communication program is designed to prepare students for entry into the communications industry in three distinct, but complementary, areas - production, public relations and journalism. The production sequence prepares students for work in broadcast and non-broadcast media, with emphasis on video and audio production. The program is designed to provide technical aptitude combined with creative and critical thinking skills. The public relations sequence prepares students for work in corporate, nonprofit and governmental public relations with a strong emphasis on the tactical and strategic approach to planning, production, dissemination and assessment. The journalism sequence prepares students for a wide range of positions in print and broadcast news. Students will focus on style and content across professional writing genres.
