Clerk (Part Time) - North East Office of Academic Affairs

Summary

To assist in the maintenance and updating of student files.

Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Respond to front desk and telephone inquiries.
  • Open and distribute mail.
  • Assist with data entry: course schedule; final grades; pass/fail requests.
  • Complete institutional processes: student registration; course tally; course roster; student schedule.
  • Review and verify information for academic forms: Tutorial and Independent Study, Off Campus Approval Forms, FERPA, and Enrollment Verification forms.
  • Respond to requests for academic reports from administrators and faculty.
  • Provide information related to academic policies for students.
  • File and assist with audit of files.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High School diploma with 2-4 years of work experience; personable, flexible and task oriented; excellent verbal communication skills; strong interactive skills and ability to work on a team. Experience with database applications, Excel and other technologies used in business.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Detail orientated
  • Knowledge of computers and various software applications.
  • Good organizational, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, to solve problems.
  • Have a team-player outlook.
  • Demonstrated record of leadership.
  • Presentation skills.
