The Department of Sports Medicine at Mercyhurst University is seeking a full-time faculty member – rank (instructor/assistant professor/associate professor) dependent upon qualification and experience of the candidate – to serve as Clinical Education Coordinator of the undergraduate Athletic Training Program. The successful candidate will teach the undergraduate program to completion and assist in the transition to a professional Master of Science in Athletic Training. Appointment begins August 15, 2018.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and professional experience.
Teach undergraduate courses within the Department of Sports Medicine; coordinate all clinical sites; oversee the clinical education evaluation process, the assessment of proficiencies and competencies as required of accredited programs, and placement of students in clinical experiences. Additional responsibilities include: develop off-campus clinical sites; advise and mentor athletic training students; assist the program director in the recruitment of athletic training students; work with program director to maintain CAATE standards; remain current in best practices and current issues/trends within the profession; and work cooperatively and collaboratively with the faculty within the Sports Medicine Department, College, and University; and fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities within the University faculty handbook.
