Explore more careers and internships

As you prepare for college, your dreams are big – and at Mercyhurst, we wouldn’t have it any other way. Maybe you’ve got your heart set on working at the international level. Or you want to lead a research team that makes a major medical discovery. Even if you aspire to be something that doesn’t exist yet (let’s say, CEO of a cutting-edge Web development company), your college experience should be preparing you for your career, not just a degree.

The Career Development Center (CDC), located on the first floor of Egan Hall, operates as a resource center where students and alumni can find information to enhance their skills in securing professional employment, including assistance in gaining experience through internships and the job search process.

An internship or externship facilitated by the Career Development Center enables you to be in the field and try out what you’ve learned in the classroom. And even if your position doesn’t result in an immediate job offer, you’ll have gained essential work experience. (The right internship or externship goes a long way in setting you apart in a sea of college graduates with a similar degree.)

Supported by your professors, counselors and mentors, Mercyhurst programs are designed to help you secure these valuable positions during your undergraduate career. We’ve also entered into partnerships with other institutions, including Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and New York Chiropractic College, creating even more opportunities to meet with employment recruiters.
