At Mercyhurst, we understand how challenging choosing a college can be, so we want to help you make an informed decision. Cost, location, and most importantly, quality of education, are just a few of the important factors you’re considering.
We know College is a major investment, and this is what we often hear from parents: Aren’t public schools less expensive? In many cases, this is true, but we know that what you’re really looking for is value. And that’s where Mercyhurst separates itself from public institutions: We believe that a college education is a lifelong investment, not a four-year commitment.
So, where’s the value? Consider our placement numbers: Even in a year when jobs were hard to find, 95 percent of our students secured jobs or were enrolled in grad school within one year. (According to the National Association for College and Employers, the national average is about 75 percent). The education your student will receive at Mercyhurst rivals that of an Ivy League school, but the price tag is nearly half. And you’ll be happy to know that more than 90 percent of incoming freshmen receive financial aid. Even better: the average award is $12,500.
Another way Mercyhurst provides value is by offering so many academic programs. We have more than 50 majors, along with a wide variety of minors and concentrations. This mix of more than 100 areas of study means our incoming freshmen will find what they want, including unique, niche academic programs like applied forensic science, anthropology/archaeology and public health. No matter what path your student chooses, all of our programs provide valuable hands-on opportunities, better preparing them for their career.
We invite you and your student to visit us on campus and see what makes Mercyhurst University such a special place. You can visit Monday through Friday at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., or 2 p.m. During these visits, we offer students the opportunity to meet with a professor, attend a class, enjoy a meal in our dining center and more. We also offer group open house events in the fall and spring.
