Admissions Process
Mercyhurst University operates on a rolling admissions cycle. Most students will begin their applications for admission in September of their senior years. Beginning in November, the College will begin sending Offers of Admission on a weekly basis.
All applicants to Mercyhurst University must submit the following information:
- An online application is available. Students can use the Common Application or the Mercyhurst University Application.
- An Official High School transcript.
- An Official SAT and/or ACT score report.
- An untimed writing sample of at least 250 words.
- An academic recommendation from a school counselor or teacher, either via an Academic Recommendation Form or separate letter.
- Dance and music applicants must complete an audition in addition to the requirements above.
- All applicants are encouraged to visit campus to meet with an Admissions Counselor. While interviews are not required for admission, it does provide the Committee on Admission with a more complete understanding of an applicant’s character and individuality.
