Institute

The Mercyhurst Institute for Public Health was created in the Fall of 2011 with the goal of bringing public health research to the Mercyhurst campus. Dr. David J. Dausey is the Founding Director of the Institute and a Professor of Public Health at the main campus. In describing the Institute Dausey noted, “the Institute will be a place where students and faculty can carry out cutting edge public health research in a multidisciplinary setting.”

The Institute will have both a domestic and an international focus and has already begun work establishing formal partnerships with several agencies and organizations including the Erie County Department of Health and Fundación Teletón México.
