Dr. Zhang's research interests focuses on Mobile Health, in which health services are carried out through collaborations among massive number of smart phones. My research interests include a wide variety of topics in the intersection of Wireless Sensor Networks, Machine Learning, and Distributed Systems to develop robust and reliable applications. She has published articles recently in: International Journal of Sensor Networks, Transactions on Wireless Communications, Personal and Ubiquitous Computing, and Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems.
She is planning on leading the computer side of the department in exciting new directions.
Dr. Pokhrel's research interests include: change-point problem, extreme value statistics, nonparametric statistics, functional data analysis, time series analysis, longitudinal data analysis, linear mixed models, bayesian analysis, survival analysis, epidemiology of cancer, and ordinary and partial differential equations. He has published articles recently in the International Journal of Biomedical Sciences and the Proceedings of Dynamic Systems and Applications.
He introduced a new course to Mercyhurst in the Fall 2013, Statistics for the Natural and Health Sciences.
