The Visual Communications concentration at Mercyhurst challenges and guides students to plan, produce, and execute effective communication campaigns and messages across multiple media platforms.

The Art Department website was collaboratively created by Tony Dorchak, Marci Wilkin, Erin Magnello, Kathleen Telaak and Mitch Phillis as a senior graphic arts project. All students are members of the graduating class of 2008.

Mercyhurst students report the play-by-play action of all home football, basketball, and hockey games through the college’s radio station WMCE and broadcast live over the Internet. The NCAA Division I and Division II teams at the college provide real-time experience for communication students.

Tyler Frey, communication major is the main sports announcer and John Baranowski, history major/communication minor, assists him.

Mercyhurst Tour

Check out the videos created by communication students. Students are given basic instruction in producing video in and outside of the television station. Instruction combines theoretical concepts with practical field experience. 3 credits
