Syracuse University, New YorkSyracuse University has been running its study abroad program since 1916. Each center has close ties to local universities, allowing students to design integrated programs of study appropriate to their academic and language abilities. Syracuse's pre-departure and on-site orientation programs further prepare students for their time abroad.
One feature of Syracuse's programs is that classes only run Monday through Thursday; Fridays are dedicated to cultural trips.
A number of scholarships and awards are available to SU Abroad students on the basis of need and merit. Specialized scholarships are also offered.
Students wishing to study abroad in the summer have a choice of 32 programs, including traveling seminars, internships, language study, visual arts and career studies. To help students afford this option, Syracuse University offers tuition grants on the basis of need.
