Organizational Leadership

In today’s changing professional landscape, leaders have to be sensitive, flexible and adaptable to the demands and expectations of stakeholders. Many organizations have abandoned top-down, rigid hierarchical structures to adopt more organic, fluid forms. Our 33-credit graduate program is designed to meet the needs and schedules of working professionals who currently hold leadership positions or are aspiring to achieve leadership roles in organizations.

The program challenges students to synthesize contemporary scholarship with insights from our service-oriented, ethically based heritage. We aim to inspire and equip our students to become exemplary leaders in service to others.

We believe leadership is a process that creates direction, alignment and commitment in groups of people in order to achieve shared objectives. We believe exemplary leadership in organizations is evident when shared organizational objectives are achieved; organizational participants at all levels are growing; and people in communities outside the organization are benefited as a result of the organization’s activities.

Leadership guru Peter Drucker puts it best: “Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.”
