Liberal Arts-Science Concentration

liberal arts science
Interested in biology or chemistry? Have you considered a career in a medical field, but aren't sure if you're ready? Mercyhurst North East has developed a liberal arts program with a concentration in science for students looking to pursue a degree in a science or health-related field.

With a curriculum based on the latest bachelor's degree programs at Mercyhurst University in Erie, students completing this associate degree would have about 60 credits of coursework toward a bachelor's degree. The first year is also designed for students interested in an associate degree at MNE, offering coursework that will crossover to many of our health career programs (see list below).

The program consists of 21 credits of science coursework and 40 credits of liberal arts coursework, all of which will be highly transferrable to any four-year institution you may consider.

What can I do with this degree?

The primary purpose of this degree is to prepare students for the final two years of a bachelor's degree program in a science-related field, like those at our Erie campus. Our Internal Transfer Coordinator can help you determine if a move to Mercyhurst's Erie Campus is right for you.

Other students may wish to use this to merge into or out of another Mercyhurst North East associate degree program such as:

Graduates of this associate degree program will also be able to demonstrate completed coursework in the sciences to potential employers, giving them a leg up on the competition during the job search process as it pertains to science or health-related careers.
