This associate degree is intended to lead to a four-year degree. The degree requirements include 20 courses from a wide array of disciplines, intended to provide students with fundamental skills and knowledge of cultural and social areas, the sciences, and the arts. Since we're a fully accredited institution, these 20 courses should all transfer into the college of your choice.*
What can I do with this degree?
While this degree is designed as a springboard to a bachelor's degree, the liberal arts associate degree is a signaling factor to employers that you've got the communication and critical thinking skills necessary to be a productive employee. A two-year degree may give you an edge on other applicants with no college experience.
The degree could satisfy up to 60 credits worth of college work toward a bachelor's degree program (some college's transfer policies or program requirements may result in less credits being applied to your program of choice).
Many MNE liberal arts alum have gone on to earn a bachelor's degree in fields ranging from athletic training and history to biology and fashion at Mercyhurst's Erie Campus. Our Internal Transfer Coordinator can help you determine if a move to Mercyhurst's Erie Campus is right for you.
NOTE: 099 classes (developmental writing, developmental math) may not transfer.
