Communications/New Media Concentration
Advertising, marketing, media and communication are a big part of our everyday lives. Whether we're reading the newspaper, watching television, having dinner with friends or even driving to the store, messages are reaching us. You can get started on a career producing and distributing these messages through the communications concentration in the liberal arts associate degree program at Mercyhurst North East.
This concentration is designed to provide students with skills in media production, including print, video, audio, and web, as well as writingm speaking, computers and web management, and marketing, in addition to traditional liberal arts offerings.
It’s no secret that today’s media professionals need to know how to use the many emerging technologies within this fast-changing field. At Mercyhurst, our New Media concentration prepares you for a wide range of career opportunities with courses in electronic media production, computer applications, graphic design, web management and much more.
While the media landscape is constantly changing, employers continue to value candidates who have strong critical thinking and communication skills and general business knowledge. By choosing a concentration in New Media within the Liberal Arts program, you’ll gain a well-rounded education along with specific skills and knowledge that will help you enter today's most in-demand jobs in the field.
