Facilities and Property Management
Facilities and property management can be described as the management of people, places and things that incorporate diverse fields like engineering, business, management, construction, interior design and technology.
Graduates of the program have the knowledge needed to obtain designation as a Facility Management Professional by the International Facility Management Association. This is a stepping stone toward the Certified Facility Manager certification, which can be attained by combining the knowledge learned at Mercyhurst along with five years of FPM work experience.
Professionals in this field work in positions ranging from maintenance managers to directors of facilities at any institution or business that has a large physical plant, including:
* Colleges and universities
* Hospitals and health care centers
* Governmental agencies
* Recreational complexes
* Airports
* Large industrial facilities
* Residential facilities
