All business majors complete coursework in common business core classes that introduce a broad base of fundamental business functions. You’ll learn about essential topics, such as accounting, business policy and strategy, business economics, business management, and business ethics. From there, choose a specialized area of study that will make you even more marketable to potential employers. The Career Services Office will help you find internships that let you gain valuable, real-world experience while still earning credits toward your degree.

Mercyhurst will give you the skills and knowledge to succeed in today's global business environment through coursework based in liberal arts, with an emphasis on analytical thinking, written, quantitative and verbal communication skills. Here at Mercyhurst, the potential for personal growth and professional development is unmatched. Business majors have completed internships and co-ops with many organizations, including Erie Insurance Group, Ernst & Young, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, General Electric, PNC Bank and Westinghouse. You’ll graduate able to work effectively with others, make critical decisions and adapt to a rapidly changing and competitive world. You’ll learn the Mercy mission along with academics, which develops a sense of individual responsibility and personal integrity that will guide you through all aspects of your professional and personal life.

With a 14-1 student-to-faculty ratio and an average class size of 20 students, you’re never just a number at Mercyhurst. In fact, many upper level courses average 10 or fewer students.
