Social Work Major

Mercyhurst University's bachelor of arts degree in social work provides a core of knowledge, skills and social work values to prepare students for careers or advanced degrees in the field of social work. Students in this program gain the knowledge and skills to help foster the well-being of all populations and to promote change at the institutional and policy levels. Respect for human dignity, knowledge of self and integrity, together with a commitment to social work values and ethics, and social and economic justice are necessary personal and professional attributes. The social work major is accredited by the Council of Social Work Education.
