When the third edition of the Roman Missal went into use on the vigil of the first Sunday in Advent, how ready were Catholics for the change?

That is the question that clergy, lay liturgical and music professionals, along with the average Catholic, will ponder as they learn more about the upcoming changes to the Roman Missal during a two-pronged program at Mercyhurst College. Explaining those changes will be Sister Joyce Ann Zimmerman, C.P.P.S., Ph.D., S.T.D., a nationally recognized liturgical theologian and founding director of the Institute for Liturgical Ministry, Dayton, Ohio.

In addition to her role as director of the Institute for Liturgical Ministry, Sister Joyce Ann is the founding editor and columnist for the journal, Liturgical Ministry, and co-editor of the annual liturgical resource, Living Liturgy. She is a frequent facilitator of workshops and days of recollection on liturgy and spirituality. She is the author of numerous books and articles, including Pray without Ceasing: Prayer for Morning and Evening, and is co-editor with Robin Leaver of Liturgy and Music: Lifetime Learning. Her most recent book is Silence: Everyday Living and Praying, published in 2010.
