- Geological Instrumentation and Sampling Techniques
Dr. Buyce has been a member of the Mercyhurst Archaeological Institute for nearly 18 years, and his thirty year career in the field of geology has included studies in coastal processes, sedimentology, mineralogy, resource evaluation, environmental geology, and geoarchaeology in the field, laboratory, and office. In addition, he has researched carbonate rock chemistry, diagenetic mineralogy, and clastic sedimentology. He has earned a Ph.D. and post-doctoral education in sedimentology, stratigraphy and diagenetic mineralogy with on-the job training in groundwater geology, data management, oil-field studies, and geoarchaeology.
