Louisa Jonason, Assistant Professor of Voice, and Director of the Opera Program, holds a BM from Morehead State University, and an MM from New York University.
Jonason’s European debut was at L’Opera de Nice. Other international debuts were at the National Theater in Taiwan, in Caracas, Venezuela and Hamilton, Canada. Jonason also sang Queen Isabella for the North American premier of Darius Milhaud’s Christopher Columbus with Madame Milhaud in attendance and created the role of the Queen in the world premiere of Seymour Barab’s Sleeping Beauty.
Jonasons’s New York debut as a stage director was with the American Singers’ Opera Project’s (ASOP). She is currently affiliated with the After Dinner Opera Company of New York City.
