Donna Zariczny joined the faculty in the Winter Term of 2012 as an adjunct instructor teaching in the areas of graphic rendering and building systems.
With more than 20 years of professional experience in architecture Donna brings a wide variety of expertise to her teaching. She has worked intensely on various commercial projects ranging from historic restoration of downtown buildings and multi-family housing projects to user specific facilities, assisted living buildings, k-12 educational facilities and bank branch structures.
A Michigan native, she attended Lawrence Institute of Technology for her undergraduate studies, then continued on to SUNY Buffalo for her pre-professional degree, and finally Kent State University for her Bachelor of Architecture. Donna is licensed to practice architecture in both New York and Pennsylvania and holds her NCARB certification allowing her to become licensed in additional states to meet her clients needs.
Before starting Inscale Architects, Donna worked in the public sector in facilities management. She honed her organizational and communication skills during this time working on a multitude of projects. Donna also worked in private architectural firms with an emphasis on multifamily housing, historical preservation and educational facilities. Her responsibilities continued beyond project management and she was instrumental in implementing new technology and software to streamline the operations within the office.
At Inscale Architects, Donna has a client responsive approach to design which has resulted in a service oriented standard of success within the industry. Incorporating environmentally friendly and energy efficient ideas is important and she strives to integrate green architecture into every project she undertakes. Donna recently obtained Woman Business Enterprise status for Inscale in both Pennsylvania and New York State positioning her company to do work on government contracts. Donna is passionate about being active in and giving back to the community. Her past board participation includes Habitat for Humanity of Warren County, City of Warren Parks and Recreation Commission, First Presbyterian Daycare Advisory Board and the City of Warren Planning Commission. She is presently the Vice President of the Warren County School Board, a member of the General Care Services, Inc. board, and a member of the Intermediate Unit 5 Board.
In her spare time Donna enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, traveling, boating, building, reading and outdoor adventures.
